At USA UTV Accessories , we recently decided to expand our windshield product line to offer customers a wider variety of windshield options. What we call GOOD/BETTER/BEST. Our GOOD windshield is a high quality windshield at a value price. Our BETTER windshield has a few more bells and whistles. Our BEST windshield has all the bells and whistles and is made of Mar-Resistant MR10 Lexan. Here are the main features of each windshield. GOOD -1/4 Lexan, 2 piece construction, Dual-Vents, Hood Line Trim, Loop Clamps BETTER -1/4 Lexan, 2 piece construction, Dual Vents, Hood Line and Side Trim, Quick Connect Clamps BEST -1/4 MR10 (Mar-Resistant) Lexan, 2 piece construction, Dual Vents, Hood Line and Side Trim, Quick Connect Clamps This listing is our GOOD windshield. The full product details are: ¼ LEXAN -The windshield is manufactured using ¼ Lexan that will not bow at high speeds or when hauling as compared to 3/16 Lexan. Additional attributes of Lexan are: o 250 times the impact strength of glass o Excellent light transmission o Excellent sound abatement properties o Superior insulating properties 2 PIECE DESIGN -Each windshield section mounts independently of the other. This allows the rider the option of riding with both sections on or just the top or bottom on when more air in the cab is desired. DUAL VENTS -Weve upgraded all of our windshields to include dual vents on the bottom windshield section. A line of vent openings have been cut in front of the driver and passenger. The vents open and close by sliding the vent covers from side to side. AUTOMOTIVE TRIM -The bottom of each windshield section has a flexible PVC edge trim installed. The trim on the bottom of the lower section includes a flexible bubble to better seal any gaps between the windshield and hood line. BENDS – A ll of our 2 piece windshields have bends for design purposes or to add strength to the windshield. At the top of the lower section, the windshield contains a bend of approximately 60 degrees. At the bottom of the upper section, the windshield contains two bends; one out and one down. This allows the bends in the upper section to mount over the bend in the bottom section. Please see the listing photos showing these bends. An additional bend is designed at the top of the upper section. This bend strengthens the Lexan and provides more stability at high speeds or while towing. Your windshield may contain additional bends if needed to contour to the vehicles cab frame. The windshield mounts using loop clamps. The top of the windshield stops just below the front cross bar. The windshield should not interfere with your hard top. COLOR -The windshield is manufactured using clear Lexan. Tinted Lexan is available at additional cost. Frequently Asked Questions Will the windshield scratch? Our GOOD windshield is manufactured using a standard grade Lexan 9034. Lexan 9034 does not have the Margard coating that is applied to MR10 Lexan. As a result, the windshield can scratch. Test a small area of the windshield prior to using the polish on the entire sheet. The polish manufacturers instructions should be followed. How should I clean the windshield? Hose off any excess dirt and mud before cleaning. Gently wash the windshield with a solution of mild soap and lukewarm water, using a soft, grid-free cloth or sponge. What if I don’t want a vented windshield? A solid windshield is still available. Just send us a note when purchasing. Can I haul my UTV with the windshield on? Trailering your UTV with the windshield on is not a problem. Weve hauled UTVs with our windshields on, up and down the interstate. Just obey the speed limit and you shouldnt have any problems. Can I install a windshield wiper on my windshield? We dont recommend using a windshield wiper on the 9034 Lexan. If you need a windshield wiper, an upgrade to MR10 Lexan is recommended. However, over time, even the MR10 can be scratched from the constant rub of a windshield wiper. Do you make a flip windshield? We do not manufacture a flip windshield. Frankly, we havent found a hinge mechanism short of a heavy steel piano hinge that will last. Some of the hinges we see out there are made of plastic and are used in the golf cart business. After about a year of bending, they begin to crack. Thats just not good enough for us. If airflow into the cab is needed, the Dual Vents work great. If you prefer to remove a section of the windshield, the 2 piece independent design makes that possible. If you frequently remove a windshield section, consider upgrading to our BETTER windshield with Quick Connect Clamps. We do make one-piece windshields. Can I get an enclosure to go with my windshield?
